Volunteer: Farm & Forest Expo

We are back on for the Farm & Forest Expo! With this late notice, we really need your help to fill these shifts.  Duties will include Exhibitor Registration; Ticket Sales; Walk-about surveys to attendees.

Friday, February 14, 2020 and Saturday, February 15, 2020

Exhibitor Registration

The role is to greet the exhibitor, hand them their name badge, and answer any questions they might have. The exhibitor will get into the line based on the name of their organization. For example, if the organization is Knoxland Equipment, those booth workers would get in the “K” line. We have many organizations that start with the same name, like UNH Cooperative Extension and UNH Cooperative Extension Forestry & Wildlife Program. Both of these would get into the “U” line. We will have lists of organizations at each line to help exhibitors get into the correct line (hopefully).

When the exhibitor gets to you at the registration table, you will ask for the organization name and then their name. You will hand them their badge and a map. On that map, you will circle their location, and send them on their way.

If you are in the VIPs/Speaker line, you will either make a badge or give the badge to the VIP or Speaker. This is also where we will be handing out audio visual equipment for the workshops. Those who need projectors will come to the registration area and sign out the equipment. It is the speaker’s responsibility to bring the equipment back to the registration table after the conclusion of their workshop.

Ticket Sales

The role is to greet the attendee, take the entry fee from them, and answer any questions they might have.

Instructions: When an attendee walks up to the entrance of the show, this role is to charge a credit card or take money from the attendee. Both roles will be using machines, either a credit card machine or a cash register. There will be written instructions for both and there will be a training session before each session. This role can be stressful at times, especially during the first shift of the day. Only sign up for this duty if you are comfortable with technology.

Guest Surveys

This opportunity is surveying Expo attendees to find out what they like about the Expo, what changes would they like to see, and how did they hear about the Expo. This is a new volunteer opportunity for the Expo.
