We have an exciting day planned for Friday, October 4th, chosen for that date because the foliage should be at peak. This will be a combined GSA Tour and Social Committee Luncheon (including a bonus after lunch activity).
Our destination for our GSA tour, will be Potter Place, truly another hidden gem in NH. Walking around this tiny hamlet is like going back in time to the 1870s. It includes a former railroad station, post office, general store, the Gordon-Lull House, and a secret garden, among other attractions, all run by the Andover Historical Society. It is the best 19th century wooden railroad station surviving in NH and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Our next stop will be The Refinery, a fabulous BBQ restaurant run by the former owners of The Inn at Pleasant Lake and is a local favorite. Need I say more?
After lunch we will have a BONUS stop at The Philbrick-Cricenti Bog in New London, a unique and very easy 13 minute trail, with new metal walkways and a rope railing. It features an ancient glacier lake and tundra-like vegetation.
All three of these sites are new to us as GSA destinations. As this is an official GSA Tour while at Potter Place so plan on wearing your GSA uniform and name badge.
