GSA Summer Recap

Granite State Ambassadors had a successful summer this year, assisting with a variety of events and participating in educational opportunities.  Learn more about where our Granite State Ambassadors (GSAs) are volunteering and what topics they are learning more about to provide quality referrals to guests of NH!

July 2022

Volunteer Hours Summary:

106 volunteers served 1,265.5 hours at 11 welcome centers, 2 events, 1 tour, and 1 virtual opportunity, (assisting 5130 guests) for a total value of $32,599.50 *(*independent sector).

37 volunteers assisted with the Great American Ribfest Event at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Merrimack, for a total of 254 hours.  The event took place on July 15th, 16th, and 17th.

3 volunteers helped out the Keep NH Brewing event, for a total of 15 hours.  The event took place on July 9th in Concord.  GSA represented the Department of Travel and Tourism with a booth.

Educational:

The Strawbery Banke Museum hosted 9 volunteers for a tour of the grounds and some of the houses.  GSAs enjoyed an informational tour about the history of the property.  Read more about the tour here.

 

 

14 volunteers participated in a virtual program called NH Food Alliance’s Live Free + Eat Local Challenge, presented by the NH Food Alliance.  Colleen Stewart, NH Food Alliance Communications Coordinator, gave us an overview of the program.

The Millyard Museum hosted a Roundtable to share what volunteering at the museum looks like.

Social Committee:

The Social Committee convened at the Tuscan Market at Tuscan Village in Salem for a fun lunch.

 

 

 

 

August 2022

Volunteer Hours Summary:

121 Volunteers served 1,563 hours at 12 welcome centers, 3 events, 2 meetings, and 1 virtual opportunity, (assisting 5534 guests) for a total value of $40,263.15 *(*independent sector).

32 volunteers assisted with the Council of State Governments East Event at the DoubleTree Hotel Expo Center in Manchester, for a total of 229 hours.  The event took place on August 13th through 17th.

24 volunteers helped out with the League of NH Craftsmen Fair at Mt Sunapee in Sunapee, for a total of 116 hours.  The event took place from August 6th through August 14th.

7 volunteers assisted with Hampton Children’s Festival at Hampton Beach in Hampton, for a total of 44 hours.  The event took place on August 15th through August 19th.

5 volunteers participated in Aviation Day at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, for a total of 20 hours, on August 19th.

Educational:

Our Conversations with Emily interview series continued through an interview with OLLI.

Meetings:

38 volunteers participated in a Volunteer Roundtable meeting about the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, as well as a Quarterly Management Update meeting.

September 2022

Volunteer Hours Summary:

124 Volunteers served 2,119.75 hours at 13 welcome centers, 5 events, and 1 training, (assisting 6179 guests) for a total value of $53,986.52 *(*independent sector).

49 volunteers represented NH at the NH building at The Big E in West Springfield, MA, for a total of 837 hours.  The event took place from September 16-October 2nd.

10 volunteers assisted with the Pollinator Garden Open House at the Bridges House, for a total of 42 hours.  The event took place on September 3rd.

10 volunteers helped out with the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival, for a total of 47 hours.  The event took place from September 9-11.

2 volunteers participated in the 25th anniversary celebration at the NH Veterans Cemetery, volunteering a total of 10 hours.  The event took place on September 24th.

3 volunteers assisted with the Highland Games at Loon Mountain Resort, for a total of 52 hours.  The event took place September 16-18.

Social Committee:

The Social Committee hosted a lunch at Vibes Gourmet Burgers in Concord on September 8th.
