Blog: Kettlehead Brewing Company, Tilton
by GSA Roberta Wells, The Hotel Concord Class of 2019
Looking for a casual place for good food and unusual beers. Kettlehead Brewing in Tilton may be just the place for you. The industrial interior showcases a rustic bar with about 12 beers on tap at any given time. Today I sampled the Cherry Cheesecake Vanilla Swirl and the Bomb Pop (a sour cherry Berline Weisse style beer). Both were light and not too hoppy, almost more like drinking a cider than a beer. My husband sampled the Penny, a nice not too hoppy Red brew and the Brown Pow, a nutty brown ale. Food offerings included salads, burgers, pizza, and other favorites but with a slightly more elevated style. The parmesan truffle fries in particular were addictive – could have just been happy eating those. The fried pork sandwich on a brioche bun was a mouthful. Everything was fresh and delicious. And if you wanted to spend some extra time or were just waiting on your food, they had a game room in the back you could enjoy.
So next time you are in the Lakes Region, drive about a mile west out of Tilton Center and look for Kettlehead. (Should be a particularly fun place in the summer when their new patio opens.
