Blog: A Tour & Tasting at LaBelle Winery in Derry

by GSA Kathryn Segreti, League of NH Craftsmen Class of 2012

Stephanie of LaBelle Winery welcomed a group of Granite State Ambassadors at their Derry location recently. We had a picture-perfect day to enjoy the tour. The new tasting barn was our first stop where we tasted 4 wines including Seyval Blanc, Sangria Blanca, Estate Rose, and their Granite State Red. Amanda provided wonderful service and very helpful backgrounds on each choice. Some of us purchased a few selections and various other drinking enhancement accessories. We were excited to hear about a new release of sparkling wines made in the traditional methode champenoise which is a traditional way champagne is made in France which should be offered soon.

The Derry location is the sister to their flagship vineyard in Amherst and focuses on more opportunities for dining and entertainment. The fabulous Americus Restaurant which is very popular and open for dinner primarily but also lunch a few days a week. Check their website for hours and make a reservation to ensure you are not disappointed. The miniature golf and 9-hole par 3 makes it a good choice even for families. You can grab a quick snack at the LaBelle Market which are all made on site.

Famous for their LaBelle Lights, their annual Holiday light show that brings in over 65,000 attendees a year and entertainment, LaBelle is an outstanding location for Weddings, special events or just a casual day out with friends and family.

Check out what our fellow GSAs had to say:

Nice to be able to tour a venue that offers such a wide range of activities. The beautiful grounds include a mini golf course, a well-groomed par 3 golf course, dining, wine tasting and tours, function rooms, and a ballroom for weddings making it a great destination for all ages. ~Bernie

A fantastic afternoon spent at LaBelle Winery in Derry. Well manicured grounds, par 3 and mini golf, a wine tasting room, a cute little gift shop and a beautiful restaurant (Americus) that features farm to table dining. They have it all! ~Leanne

With the weather being most cooperative, a lovely spring day was had by all at Labelle Winery.  Our hostess was most gracious and gave a great commentary about  Labelle and how the Derry location came to fruition.  The tasting hostess was informative and responsive to questions. The tour was all inclusive, showing off the many great aspects of this property.  ~Peggy

My takeaway is that it’s a lovely, well maintained property, with something for everyone.  Loved the 18 holes of miniature golf, and the 9 holes of Par 3.  Great for groups and families to do both and be able to coordinate  their day.  The market was most attractive, and the foods offered had a lot of appeal, especially the pastries.  I bought a ham/cheese croissant and it was delicious.   The Americus dining room is most attractive and the menu is appealing.  It’s also exciting that in addition to their lovely wines they are going to have champagne.

I have already been talking it up to friends and family, especially those who live in the vicinity.  I wish my granddaughter lived closer so that she could have had her wedding there.  ~Joanne

Tuesday was a great day (weather certainly cooperated.).  Fabulous venue and beautiful surroundings.  Something for everyone to do.  Delightful tasty wines (purchased a couple).  Terrific hospitality.  Nice surprise – had no idea.    Really glad we went  – would definitely recommend.  Plan to return with friends.  And this year we will go to see the lights!!  ~Kathie & Mark

Beautiful afternoon at LaBelle’s. So much to offer,  a winery with wine  tasting with first class wine. A 9 hole golf course and a wonderful mini golf area.  Even an event club for weddings and classes and entertainment. ~Irene

I was excited to take part in Wednesday’s Labelle Winery tour in Derry, NH, as I had never been there before.  The grounds and facilities were just beautiful!  Our tour guide, Stephanie, was so welcoming and pleasant. She gave us a lovely, comprehensive tour, was very knowledgeable about the inner workings of the winery, and answered all of our questions.  I especially appreciated that we were treated to a full wine tasting experience in the Tasting Room, as well as delicious charcuterie in the beautiful and relaxing Americus restaurant.

I plan to return to LaBelle in December for their holiday lights display and will definitely recommend the Labelle Winery to local friends and relatives, as well as to guests visiting New Hampshire. ~Julie”

Labelle Derry is a calm tranquil environment where one can walk around and look at the vineyards and then ramp it up and play mini golf.  Afterwards grab a sandwich at the lovely store with sandwiches and food.  Friendly staff and great location. ~Suzanne

What a fabulous tour! The grounds, the buildings and everything they have to offer is very impressive. It is a great place to send guests of all kinds, something for everyone. One moment that stood out for me was the story behind one of the wines we sampled. Amanda, who did the tasting, said their local grapes had such a bad year in 2023 because of the weather they couldn’t use them for their usual wines. Instead they took what they had of 6 different varieties, and made an experimental wine (limited one time batch). I believe it was called “Estate Rose”. ~Sue1

The visit to LeBelle’s, in Derry, was wonderful. They have a beautiful venue and the information was great. ~Sandra

The GSAs were blessed with a beautiful day to view the LaBelle winery. We had an opportunity to taste 3 different wines, presented by Amanda. Our hostess, Stephanie walked us to the vineyard and explained how the frost of May, 2023 devastated the wine crop, but that all the vine bases had survived and were growing well this year, However the vines from this year are not mature enough and will not produce useable grapes—sad. Also of interest is that not only is there a 9 hole par 3 golf course but an 18 hole mini golf course, which would provide a nice friend and/or family outing. ~Mary-Helen

First off, I was impressed with the location of the Derry location of LaBelle Winery. It may be in Derry, but it is convenient to so many other southern NH communities. The tasting room is beautiful and the server, Amanda, was knowledgeable but approachable. (Not a wine snob) I’m not a golfer but the course sounded like a fun spot to combine golf, wine, and good food at the Americus restaurant. I’m looking forward to returning with my granddaughter for the light show next holiday season. ~Diane
