Exploring Lakes Region Conservation Trust – Castle in the Clouds / Mt Roberts

It was a beautiful clear winter day for a hike in the Lakes Region. Mt Roberts trailhead begins just after the stables. The trail is well marked and initially pretty smooth before quickly becoming very steep requiring the use of our micro spikes. Soon the trees thin out along a small ledge we glance off behind us and the view was spectacular! One other marked scenic spot is even better the higher the elevation. This was an easy/moderate hike and the views leading to the summit are some of the best we have seen. There are several other trails for Snowshoeing and Cross country skiing to enjoy this beautiful area.
