Exploring the Heritage Trail: The New Hampshire Boat Museum
By: Sarah Brown, Comfort Inn Concord, Class of 2011
Although we had been before, the exhibits change each year, so everything was new to us. The theme this year is racing boats and there are some beauts on display. There’s an introductory movie about boating on Lake Winnipesaukee and then you’re free to explore the various vessels on display. From canoes to sporty racers, this year’s exhibit is interesting to all. My husband was particularly excited to see a small hydroplane like he, his grandfather, and his father built for him to ply the waters of Baboosic Lake a long, long time ago. After perusing the gift shop we headed to our next stop.
The museum also operates a vintage boat excursion on the Millie B from the town docks.
