GSA Fall Recap

Granite State Ambassadors have had a successful 2023, with a variety of events and educational opportunities.  Learn more about where our Granite State Ambassadors (GSAs) are volunteering and what topics they are learning more about to better refer our guests around the state!

October 2023

Volunteer Hours Summary:

134 Volunteers served 1,653 hours at 12 welcome centers, 3 events, 2 meetings, and 1 tour, (assisting 6745 guests) for a total value of $49,507.39 *(*independent sector).

6 volunteers served at The Big E in early October, for a total of 49.5 hours.

7 volunteers assisted with the Bedrock Fairy House Festival, for a total of 30 hours.

5 volunteers assisted with the Strawbery Banke Ghosts on the Banke event, for a total of 15.5 hours.

Educational:

A group of 13 GSA volunteers toured the Telephone Museum and Mt Kearsarge Indian Museum in Warner, for a total of 65 hours.  Read more about this fun experience at both museums here.

Meetings:

17 volunteers participated in an Airport Volunteer Roundtable and a Quarterly MHT Management Update.

Social Committee:

A group of 19 GSAs visited Vida Cantina in Portsmouth for a Social Committee lunch.  They had a wonderful meal – read more about their visit here.

 

 

 

 

November 2023

Volunteer Hours Summary:

122 Volunteers served 1,279.75 hours at 10 welcome centers, 1 event, 1 office hours, and 1 tour, (assisting 4258 guests) for a total value of $38,328.50 *(*independent sector).

6 volunteers helped out with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Access 2023 Conference, for a total of 45 hours.

Educational:

15 volunteers participated in a tour of the Woodman Museum and the Children’s Museum in Dover, for a total of 75 hours.  These two museums are members of the NH Heritage Museum Trail and provide historical and educational exhibits for guests.  Read more about this GSA educational experience here.

 

GSA Award Ceremony:

GSAs participated in the annual AMBIEs Award Ceremony on November 9th at Hart’s Turkey Farm.  It was a great success and an important ceremony to honor the contributions of many GSA volunteers.  Almost 100 GSA volunteers attended, and several industry members attended as well.

 

December 2023

Volunteer Hours Summary:

140 Volunteers served 1,631.75 hours at 10 welcome centers, 5 events, 1 virtual program, and 1 tour, (assisting 3717 guests) for a total value of $48,870.87 *(*independent sector).

11 GSAs volunteered at the Journey to the North Pole event, in Lincoln, for a total of 55 hours.

10 volunteers helped out with the Manchester Holiday Parade, coordinated by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, for a total of 37 hours.

4 GSAs volunteered at the Bridges House Christmas Tree Lighting event, for a total of 6 hours.

37 volunteers assisted with the Very Merry Holiday Gift Fest, at the Doubletree Hotel in Manchester.  Volunteers helped out with the event for 190 hours.

9 volunteers assisted with the Strawbery Banke Candlelight Stroll in Portsmouth, for a total of 43 hours.

Educational:

32 volunteers participated in the Cog Railway Winter Experience, for a total of 96 hours.  Volunteers enjoyed the trip up the mountain to Waumbek Station, utilizing the warming huts, making s’mores, and appreciating the view of Mt. Washington and the base.  Read more here.

35 volunteers participated in a Virtual Lecture from the Manchester Transit Authority.  MTA shared more details about new routes connecting Manchester-Boston Regional Airport to the Boston Express Terminal and other locations.  Read more here.
