GSAs Enjoy a Manchester Millyard Walking Tour

GSAs had the pleasure of joining John Clayton, Executive Director of the Manchester Millyard Museum, for a walking tour of the Manchester Millyard this week.  John is a wealth of knowledge about Manchester and the history of the area, and it is always a pleasure listening to him speak.

Our tour began at the Manchester Millyard Museum, and we walked down to Arms Park, stopping to learn more about Manchester along the way.  While it was a hot summer day, we were able to listen and ask questions in the park under some nice shady trees at the end of the tour!

In light of COVID-19, we spread out as much as possible, and we wore masks for the entire tour.  It was our first venture out, and it was a success!

Here is what some of our GSAs had to say about the tour:

“Being from Manchester and living most of my childhood on the west side, it was great to hear so many great things about Manchester!”

“John’s depth of knowledge is so extensive.”

“Although I grew up in Manchester, I was unaware of some of the topics John spoke about.”

“What a great tour and refresher about Manchester, the Millyard, and the magic of the Merrimack. John’s passion and long term commitment to the topics is so evident in his presentation.”

We would highly recommend a visit to the Millyard Museum to learn more about the history of Manchester.  Until our next tour!
