BLOG: Manchester Lodging Tour
On February 8th a group of GSAs boarded the Manchester Transit Authority’s Trolley for a tour of 4 Manchester Hotels and 1 Bed & Breakfast. It was an incredibly informative day and we wanted to share some of what we learned!

I love the entire concept and niche that Tru brings to the hotel marketplace and would not hesitate to book a stay at a Tru stop in any travels I may do in the future as well!
Your partnership with the Common Man, the implementation of ADA accommodations, and the views of the river and Mill Yard perfectly position your establishment as a preferred location for any visitor to the greater Manchester area!
~Alan
The new Tru hotel is bright and welcoming from the moment you enter the front door. I loved your wall mural of Manchester but what was even more spectacular was the fabulous views of the Merrimack River and West side.
~Kathryn
What impressed me the most was the extensive breakfast offerings and other amenities to cater to the business traveler. In addition, your proximity to downtown and the full service Common Man restaurant in the rear of the building will be attractive to the business traveler.
~Moe
What impressed me the most was the awesome view of the river and bridge and the activity boards by the elevators. I’m sure the guests appreciate the recommendations for things to see and do nearby. The free breakfast allows for guests to fuel up and get on their way quickly if needed. The access to the Common Man Roadside makes it easy to get delicious meals without having to go outside. The mural makes the breakfast and game areas fun and uplifting. The rooms were attractive, clean and functional.
~Norma
Your hotel offers more than I had expected and it was quite impressive. This visit will make a huge difference in my recommending the TRU as it has a great location for many of our business and leisure travelers. Having been an extensive traveler when I was working, I only wish TRU was an option at that time.
~Mark
I think the layout of the lower level living space is so smart – dining, socializing, playing and relaxing – all areas warm and inviting. Your location is fabulous (close to downtown, restaurants, museums) and additional amenities (including having an attached restaurant) makes it easy to recommend you to guests who arrive at the Information Desk at the airport looking for lodging. And the shuttle service makes you particularly attractive! Just last week I was able to help a traveler secure the shuttle (she had already booked her room). I thought your white boards opposite the elevators were very innovative and informative as well as fun! Manchester does have a lot to offer its visitors and you helped to capture the essence of that.

Being a Fisher Cats fan, I appreciated learning and seeing the patio restaurant overlooking the ballpark.
~Moe
My 1st visit even though I have seen it so often when I cycle the Manchester/Goffstown Rail Trail. Your unique location to Delta Stadium and SNU as well as the trail makes this Hotel easy to recommend to all visitors to NH.
The room selections are so very varied. Both the baseball views to the town view really work well. Everyone can find a room that suits their needs. Deck is fabulous, and also so much fun for locals, (like me in the future!) to watch a game.
~Maureen
As I walked into the hotel lobby I knew I was at an “upper scale” venue. The warmth of the wood and fireplaces is so inviting. The first room you showed us with the bar area was lovely and welcoming. The pool with a view of the ballpark and outside hot tub are so clean and well maintained. And you offer so many other wonderful amenities. It is hard to talk about the Hilton Garden Inn without mentioning the “attached” ballpark. Anyone (baseball lovers or not) would enjoy a meal/beverage out on the patio!! Your location is so convenient to other attractions as well as the ballpark. Free parking is a wonderful amenity.
~Kathie
I was impressed by the hotel’s prime location adjacent to the Delta Dental Stadium. The proximity to the ballpark adds a unique and appealing dimension to the Hilton Garden Inn experience. The prospect of enjoying some refreshments on the patio, overlooking the field is appealing, and clearly provides a remarkable experience for guests. I have already boasted about your hotel to some of my friends who are true baseball fans; I expect we will be visiting you when the baseball season starts!
Additionally, while we were touring, there was one particular aspect that truly stood out to me – the absence of air fragrance being sprayed in hallways, stairwells, and other areas. In an age where scented environments have become the norm, discovering a hotel that prioritizes a fragrance-free atmosphere was a breath of fresh air, quite literally. I wanted to extend my gratitude for this choice, as it not only made my tour more comfortable but also showcased a thoughtful consideration for guests with sensitivities or preferences for unscented spaces.

I was particularly impressed with the Granite State Room, a quiet conference room with a window allowing for natural light. I am always on the lookout for spaces that can accommodate groups of people, especially those who are sensitive to extraneous noise distractions. The importance of such a feature cannot be overstated, as it undoubtedly creates a more conducive and pleasant environment for meetings and events. The attention to detail in providing a space that balances tranquility and functionality is commendable.
Furthermore, the large variety of room types caught my attention. The flexibility to choose from a diverse range of accommodations ensures that guests can find the perfect fit for their needs, making Holiday Inn Express a versatile and accommodating choice for travelers.

~Norma
I observed that the rooms are spacious and clean and I really enjoyed the various wall prints of local Manchester locations. I was also impressed when we visited the pool – not only by the pool itself but by the gentleman cleaning the windows. Speaks volumes.
~Kathie
A memorable highlight of the tour, for me, was the direct access to the Airport Diner. The convenience of having such a delightful dining option just steps away is a fantastic feature. I was especially pleased to hear about the offer of kids under 12 eating free at the Airport Diner with coupons from the hotel. It’s such a thoughtful touch that makes family travel even more enjoyable.
The park and fly package you mentioned is also an excellent offering that adds to the convenience and appeal of staying at Holiday Inn. It’s clear that the hotel is committed to providing a seamless and enjoyable experience for its guests.

What a beautiful Inn you have!
You have just become my favorite accommodation in NH!
I don’t know if it was the cookies, the hospitality, or the beauty of your Victorian Inn that captured my senses the most. Who would think there was to be such a hidden gem in the midst of Manchester’s city streets?
The Ash Street Inn offers such a divergent experience from the typical travelers’ hotel scene. It is not an option but a wonderful 1st choice in overnight stay accommodations offered with a flair of European elegance and New England hospitality!
~Alan
I have seen your Inn on my way to the Currier Museum and always wanted to see inside. Your Inn is a beautiful building and you have done an excellent job of decorating the rooms. It felt like home (only nicer). I love the stained-glass windows. You’ve done an amazing job of blending antique and modern features.
~Norma
Have driven by the Inn many times and have always been curious about the history of the building and the accommodations offered. Was in Rob’s tour group and was happy to hear the stories and details of the building. It was fantastic to see how well the building was restored and brought to life. Thanks to you both, the Inn has become a jewel in the city.
~Christine
The inn is just beautiful. It is modern enough to meet the needs of today’s travelers but you have maintained the charm of the original home.
~Kathie
I now have a much better understanding of the exquisite and unique rooms that you have to offer. From the inviting parlor to the proximity to downtown and the Currier Museum of Art, your Inn will be most attractive to both business and leisure travelers.
