GSA Summer Recap

Granite State Ambassadors have had a successful 2023, with a variety of events and educational opportunities.  Learn more about where our Granite State Ambassadors (GSAs) are volunteering and what topics they are learning more about to better refer our guests around the state!

July 2023

Volunteer Hours Summary:

145 Volunteers served 1,848.5 hours at 15 welcome centers, 4 events, 1 tour, and 1 meeting, (assisting 5451 guests) for a total value of $55,362.30 (independent sector).

56 volunteers assisted with the Great American Ribfest, for a total of 309.25 hours.

30 volunteers helped out with the Sail Portsmouth event, for a total of 162.25 hours.

2 volunteers represented the Division of Travel & Tourism at the Keep NH Brewing Event, for a total of 10 hours.

3 volunteers assisted with Hillsborough Summerfest, for a total of 20 hours.

Educational:

The Portsmouth Historical Society and Strawbery Banke Museum hosted a group of 16 GSAs for a tour of each of their facilities.  Learn more about the tour here.

Meetings:

25 volunteers participated in the MHT Quarterly Management Update.

August 2023

Volunteer Hours Summary:

152 Volunteers served 2,082.75 hours at 14 welcome centers, 4 events, 1 tour, and 1 certification, (assisting 5914 guests) for a total value of $62,378.47 (independent sector).

17 volunteers assisted with the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair, at the Lake Sunapee table, for a total of 100 hours.

5 volunteers helped out at the Hampton Children’s Festival over the course of the week, for a total of 38 hours.

5 volunteers assisted with the Boogie N Blues event in Campton, for a total of 30.5 hours.

6 volunteers helped out with the Sunflower Festival, for 18.75 hours.

Educational:

A group of 19 GSAs visited the Hood Museum and Loch Lyme Lodge for an educational tour.  Read more about their fun tour here.

 

 

 

GSA Certification:

We graduated our fourth certification class of 2023: Whaleback Mountain.  18 volunteers were certified in this class.  They are already actively volunteering!

September 2023

Volunteer Hours Summary:

191 Volunteers served 2,601 hours at 15 welcome centers, 4 events, and 1 tour, (assisting 5947 guests) for a total value of $77,900.00 *(*independent sector).

73 volunteers assisted with the Big E, for a total of 986 hours.

18 volunteers helped out at the Hampton Seafood Festival, for a total of 67.25 hours.

8 volunteers helped with the Strawbery Banke Vintage and Vine, for a total of 40 hours.

Educational:

The UNH Observatory hosted 26 GSAs for a tour of the observatory in the evening time.  Learn more about this nighttime visit here.

 

 

 

Social Committee and Activities:

The Social Committee hosted a gathering this month, located at Smokeshow Barbeque in Concord.  A group of 26 GSAs attended the gathering at this delicious restaurant.  Learn more about the visit here.
