Keene Walldogs Tour

Join us in Keene NH on August 6th for a Magical History Tour of the murals painted one weekend in June by The Walldogs, a world renowned group of 200 painters. The 16 vintage style murals depict important historic events of Keene and were voted on by the people of the community.

This Walldogs Walking tour will be conducted by Alan Rumrill, the director of the Historical Society of Cheshire County, beginning at 11:00am and ending at 12:30pm.  Members are asked to meet at Railroad Square no later than 10:45am.  Railroad Square is the bricked open space  located on the corner of Main Street and Railroad Street between Local Burger and the Cherry Garden Restaurant.

Walking: The 16 murals are painted on the outside walls of buildings located in downtown Keene and the tour is an easy, level, urban circuit encompassing approximately 15 short blocks.  To learn more, go on the website: walldogskeene.com

A Social Committee luncheon will follow at The Pour House Restaurant at 45 Central Square in Keene.  The restaurant is a short walk from where the mural tour ends. It offers American bistro style food and a non-alcoholic beverage will be included in the price of the meal. Sandwiches, burgers and wraps are priced from $12 to $14. Tax and tip are extra.

**Please sign up for the tour through our calendar system and lunch through Evite separately.**

Uniform: Please wear your uniform for both the tour and lunch.

Parking: Parking for the tour and lunch can be found at 2 public lots located on either side of Gilbo Avenue.  Gilbo is a right turn off  Main Street when heading south , away from Central Square.  Gilbo is almost directly across from Railroad Square where we will meet for the mural tour and the lots are a very short walk to Main Street.  You must pay for parking at the kiosks.   To help you locate the parking lots, use Lindy’s Diner located at 19 Gilbo Avenue.  The lots are next to Lindy’s  or across the street from the diner.
