Blog: Moonlight Meadery Tasting and Tour

By Emily Goulet, Volunteer & Events Manager

In early December, our GSA volunteers attended a tour at Moonlight Meadery in Londonderry.  It was lots of fun and very informative! We learned about the process of turning honey into mead, where all the ingredients come from, and the best part…tasting it!

Here’s what some volunteers had to say about it:

“I’ve always been interested in how people get to where they are and I love that the Meadery started from one person’s passion and Sheldon, being a family member, continues that passion.”

“As a former science teacher, I’m amazed by the technology, physics, and biology involved in mead-making. I love all the different mead “flavors.” To me they are so much more distinct (and fun!) than wine varieties and really did match Myssi’s descriptions.”

“I expected the meads to be too sweet for my taste, but was pleasantly surprised to find that they weren’t!  Having been to your business, learned about the product, and tasted delicious meads, I would not hesitate to send visitors your way for a fun afternoon of tasting and touring!”

“I had no idea how mead was made and how many types of honey there are in the world which contributes to the many flavors. The tasting was great to sample the different types available.”

We would highly recommend a trip to Moonlight Meadery, and it’s a great place to send our visitors!
